Beyond Google Basics: How "Suite" It Is!
As Google Suite becomes a more common resource to engage students in the classroom, educators are developing innovative ways to integrate Google Apps into their instruction. Many of these innovations work with app features that go beyond the basic functions of Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms. Though invaluable for collaborative and web-based composition, data, presentations, and quizzes, Google Apps can be utilized for more authentic purposes. More sophisticated uses of Google Apps can provide multiple modes of student engagement that are accessible to all learners. Participants will discover intermediate to advanced features they can use with Google Apps to improve or transform their student-driven instructional practices. Additionally, they will be introduced to add-ons and extensions which can add new functions to Google Apps for authentic, engaging student-centered learning experiences.

Recording Studios: Make ALL Fluency Flourish
How can you create an authentic learning experience with students at all levels? Our school implemented a Recording Studio in every classroom which took our students and teachers to the next level. Through teachers teaching teachers we were able to implement this school-wide in just a few short weeks. Recording studios were equipped with a soundboard, microphone, and iPad stand. In this presentation, teachers will learn how to use technology and hear about various applications that will promote project-based learning versus skills and drills practice. Participants will practice using applications while creating a skill-based lesson that they can take back to their classroom. They will also learn how to set up a recording studio and utilize applications for all fluency practice in the classroom. Participants will see examples of how recording studios have been set up and utilized by our teachers. To end the session, participants will brainstorm ways they can implement a lesson that fits their students needs.
